Reading class is an activity primarily conducted for / with children from standard 3 rd to 8th continuing their education in Government corporation schools, by a Book Fairy. The Book Fairy is a community level person specially trained and appointed to develop the reading skills of the municipal corporation/Adi-Dravidar schools children during the school hours within the school premise mobilizing the participation of school teachers and authorities.
One of the core objectives of Reading Class Programme (RCP) is to help children from corporation schools to read, by giving books and offering different activities. Precisely the objective of the project was to develop the skills of children in reading to improve their learning capacities (reading, writing, listening, expression and vocabulary) in the municipal/government schools.
